| William Zorach "Spirit of the Dance" (American 1887-1966) Full size bronze allegorical figure of a dancer at the end of her performance. Inscribed: Zorach 1932 4/6 and Modern Art Foundry, New York. Brown patina. Dimensions: 77"H., base: 47" x 31". In the early 1930's, the Rockefeller family contracted Donald Deskey to design the interior of Radio City Music Hall. Deskey chose Zorach's 'Spirit of the Dance' to be the primary sculpture in the hall. The twice life size sculpture was cast in aluminum and was placed in the lower level lounge.
